Having sourced sufficient bricks, a decision was made to build a new St. Mary's Cathedral, relocating it from Beaconsfield to Du Toitspan.

A new Tower
The new tower and its 570 pound bell was blessed and consecrated by Bishop Matthew Gaughren.
New Year's eve, 1938
The Fire
A fire consumed the new St. Mary's Cathedral leaving only the Tower and ash.
1941
The new Temple
Having raised donations from generous Catholics in South Africa and America, the new St Mary's Cathedral was built.

Our Present Sanctuary
Under the guardianship of Father Victor, the Catheral is the pillar that has held up the city of Kimberley through hardships including a pandemic and continues to serve as a beacon of hope.
